Leslie Taylor Appointed Community Coordinator

The Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Leslie Taylor as Community Coordinator for the Centre’s new seniors initiative, South Shore Helping Hands Pilot Project, effective August 18.  Last May the federal government announced a New Horizons for Seniors contribution of $54,000 toward a pilot project to extend the Centre’s Seniors Helping Seniors program to other community in our health district of Lunenburg and Queens counties. South Shore Health is contributing $25,000, reflecting the value they see in this volunteer program, United Way $1000, and the Centre itself $2000, for a $82,000 project. Stay tuned for further news and how you may be able to help.

Leslie comes to us after 8 years as volunteer coordinator for VON Lunenburg County. Her education, experience, and contacts with the volunteer community in Lunenburg county make her ideally suited for this new position.  We are fortunate to have someone with her experience and commitment to serving seniors in our community.  Leslie will be using the office adjoining the seniors room several hours a week. Please welcome her to our Centre family.
